Hand knit and crocheted beanies from October Yarn Market News
Our October Yarn Forward column showcased yarns from Australia and New Zealand knitted and crocheted into beanies. (Yes, the photos Jared shot for the magazine were infinitely nicer than the quickie I snapped above.)
Full disclosure: I snagged the Odessa that Leslie P. knitted for the column in Colinton Angora (those winter New York City streets are beyond Arctic) and the Turn A Square in Cleckheaton Country Wide for my son, who did most of the modeling. (You can get information on the patterns on the YMN web site here.) But the other hats we donated to a Volunteers of America Colorado program, which works with the city’s homeless population.
The staff were very appreciative and assured us that the hats would “go fast!” It was a reminder to us of how thankful nonprofits are when they receive handmade goods.
